Haitian Hope serves in Diquini

On Saturday, November 23, 2013 members of the Haitian Hope Humanitarian Effort, Inc. (HHHE) organization served the members and community of Eglise Adventiste Gosen de Diquini in Diquini, Haiti. Throughout the day, health related presentations were conducted by the organization’s board of directors: Guerline Durosier (President), Kenneth Victor (Vice President), Weslyne Coleman (Treasurer), and Becky Victor (Secretary).

Following ministry through song by a local Haitian Gospel Choir, “Gospel Voices”, an inspirational message entitled “Why So Much Suffering”* was presented to the congregation by Kenneth and Guerline. Those in attendance were reminded of who is responsible for the suffering in the world today and encouraged to know the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Lunch was provided through funding by Haitian Hope. On the menu was rice and legume—a popular Haitian dish.

Saturday afternoon and again on Sunday morning, the organization conducted a vision fair for those with vision impairments—the vision test was opened to the community. The reading glasses were provided through a generous donation by the Restoring Vision organization through America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses. Men and women mostly 40 and above benefited mostly from the vision testing.

One of the ladies participating in the vision shared this testimony, “I wished I could read the Bible twice a day—in the morning when I wake up and when I go to bed at night, now I can!”
